Transamerica Corporation is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to lead global privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance. The role requires translating complex legal requirements into actionable guidance for diverse stakeholders across business units.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in privacy and AI regulatory frameworks, strong communication, and the ability to influence decision-makers. Hybrid work options are available with core offices in multiple locations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school; licensed to practice in the U.S.
• 5 years of global privacy legal experience
• 2 years of AI governance experience
• Expertise in privacy, cybersecurity and AI regulatory frameworks
• Strong technical fluency enabling collaboration with tech teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience driving change through influence

Responsibilities

• Independently handle complex privacy, cybersecurity and AI legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Advise business stakeholders on privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance regulatory requirements; translate obligations into actionable implementation strategies.
• Partner on global AI governance initiatives and review AI use cases for regulatory compliance.
• Support core privacy operations across the global enterprise (PIAs, DPIAs, DSARs, RoPAs, third‑party privacy risk).
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements (DPA, NDA, data transfer agreements).
• Design scalable privacy and AI compliance frameworks to support growth while managing risk.
• Identify training needs and deliver privacy and AI regulatory training.
• Drive cross-functional projects, coordinate outside counsel, and respond to inquiries.
