Job summary

Hadrian is seeking a Senior Counsel, Export Controls & Cybersecurity to lead ITAR, EAR, sanctions, and export-related compliance across the company. You will design and enforce scalable programs, partnering with engineering, IT, security, and HR to enable growth while ensuring regulatory adherence.

The role requires 7–10+ years in export controls and related compliance, with in-house or top-tier law firm experience, and strong ability to advise senior leadership on practical risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 7–10+ years in export controls, ITAR, sanctions, and related compliance
• Experience as in-house export compliance attorney or specialized law firm practitioner
• Deep knowledge of ITAR/EAR, sanctions regimes, licensing frameworks
• Proven track record building and owning an export compliance program
• Experience advising on cybersecurity and data access in regulated environments

Responsibilities

• Serve as Hadrian’s primary legal owner for ITAR, EAR, sanctions, and export-related compliance
• Design, implement, and continuously improve export compliance program, policies, and controls
• Advise on licensing, exemptions, and disclosures
• Oversee compliance in hiring, onboarding, travel, data access, and cloud systems
• Develop and deliver training on export and cybersecurity compliance
