Job Description Summary

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. This is a remote role based in the US.

Job Description

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement offers legal expertise to support GE Aerospace's business initiatives. You will be part of a dynamic Legal and Compliance team, serving as internal subject matter experts on legal matters related to digital technology and IT procurement. The role requires collaboration across various legal and business teams to negotiate and draft agreements within the GE Aerospace portfolio, focusing on DT/IT procurement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on digital technology agreements, including structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals, supporting both commercial and U.S. government business.
  • Advise legal and non-legal colleagues on legal and business issues.
  • Oversee audits related to emerging risks and implement strategies to mitigate business risks.
  • Address unassigned legal and business issues and support growth initiatives.
  • Manage referrals to in-house specialists and outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar.
  • At least 7 years of legal practice experience, with a focus on technology.
  • Experience negotiating technology procurement agreements, including software licenses, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, telecom, and hardware agreements.
  • Knowledge of global data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and intellectual property considerations in technology procurement.
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate complex technology deals and advise on legal and commercial risks.

This position requires U.S. export-controlled information access; final offers contingent on obtaining necessary government authorization.
