U.S. Bank's Law Division is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Operations, Technology and Regulatory Team, supporting the Digital Assets and Money Movement business line.

You will provide legal, product, and regulatory guidance on the development, deployment, and oversight of innovative offerings at the intersection of technology and finance. Collaborating with business lines, risk, compliance, technology, and government relations, you will help solve complex and novel problems and help

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership in good standing.
• 7+ years of legal experience, preferably in financial services, fintech, payments, or regulatory counseling.
• Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Background in payments, money movement, technology, trust and custody or with digital currency related legal issues.
• Familiarity with banking and payments regulation, securities and commodities considerations, and BSA/AML requirements.
• Exposure to blockchain or distributed ledger technology and related business models.
• Experience working cross-functionally with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams.
• Collaborative, curious, and creative; ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and advise on the GENIUS Act and related laws for digital assets, blockchain, and money movement.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on enterprise strategy, product design, and operations.
• Provide legal support across the digital asset product lifecycle, including structuring and risk assessment.
• Partner with business, risk, and technology teams to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Support risk management strategies for emerging business models, including BSA/AML and cyber risks.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor and technology contracts.
• Educate Law Division and leaders on legal risks and opportunities.
