Ladders is seeking a Senior Counsel for Data Governance, Privacy and Cybersecurity to provide strategic legal guidance across data governance, privacy, AI, and cybersecurity in healthcare operations. The role partners with information security, compliance and business teams to strengthen privacy practices and manage risk in a regulated environment.

Location: Remote. Compensation: $119,100 – $186,560 annually.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of legal experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance.
• J.D. degree and US state bar admission.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy laws.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Counsel - Data Governance, Privacy and Cybersecurity to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space.

This role will provide strategic legal guidance across data governance, privacy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity matters in support of healthcare operations. The successful candidate will partner closely with information security, compliance, and business stakeholders to strengthen privacy practices, support incident readiness, and help manage risk in a highly regulated environment.

In addition, this position will advise on contractual protections, client inquiries, and governance processes while helping drive practical solutions that support operational needs and patient-facing services.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $119,100 – $186,560 annually

Responsibilities

• Advise on data governance, privacy, AI, and cybersecurity matters for healthcare operations
• Counsel on privacy and security requirements for organizational offerings
• Draft and negotiate privacy and security contractual terms
• Collaborate with information security teams to support security program needs
• Assist in incident response preparedness and provide legal support
• Support governance and reporting for client audits and inquiries
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive data governance initiatives

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of legal experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance
• Law degree from an accredited institution and admission to a U.S. state bar
• Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy laws
• Strong decision-making and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
