Job summary

ARCO Companies is seeking a Senior Counsel (Claims) to join our Downers Grove, IL office. This role focuses on analyzing and resolving pre-litigation disputes, overseeing litigated and arbitrated claims, and collaborating with senior attorneys and business leaders on risk management strategies.

Approximately 10–15% of the time, the work will involve transactional negotiations of owner and subcontractor agreements.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience in a construction organization, construction-focused law firm, or large law firm preferred.
• First- and second-chair trial/arbitration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve pre-litigation disputes and oversee litigated and arbitrated claims.
• Partner with senior attorneys and business leaders on claims handling and risk management.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with insurance partners.
