Job summary

ARCO National Holdings in Downers Grove, IL seeks an experienced Attorney to join our Legal Counsel (Claims) team. The role focuses on analyzing and resolving pre-litigation disputes, overseeing litigated and arbitrated claims, and negotiating owner and subcontractor agreements as needed.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation experience, familiarity with owner/subcontractor contracts and mechanic's lien processes, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Substantive familiarity with standard Owner contracts, subcontracts, and mechanic's lien processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and strategic business acumen.
• Flexible and capable of timely communication in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the legal team to address pre-claim disputes and manage litigated and arbitrated claims.
• Partner with senior attorneys, project managers, and business leaders on claims handling and risk management strategies.
• Implement enterprise-wide claims management and litigation best practices.
• Collaborate with Safety, HR, and Finance to identify business risks and mitigation strategies.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with insurance industry partners.
