Job summary

Protective Life seeks an experienced attorney to lead legal support for the company’s investment activities in commercial mortgage lending. You will review and draft loan commitments, close mortgage loans, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the investment portfolio with sound legal documentation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of negotiating and drafting experience, strong risk management, and a proven track record of delivering excellent client service and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of negotiating and drafting experience at a high level (partner equivalent).
• Broad knowledge of commercial mortgage lending and related law.
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Close new mortgage loans: draft and negotiate loan commitments and documents.
• Review title commitments, surveys, and due diligence for collateral.
• Maintain portfolio by documenting changes to loans and collateral.
• Advise Investment Department and help develop compliant policies.
