Job summary

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) seeks an experienced Senior Counsel to join the Litigation Department in Atlanta. The Senior Counsel will strategize on a range of civil rights matters and lead case teams across LDF’s docket, reporting to the Director or Deputy Director of Litigation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and bar admission in NY/DC/GA or waiver eligibility.
• 10+ years of litigation experience; appellate experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with class action litigation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Litigate a broad range of racial justice issues across federal and state courts.
• Supervise and advise litigation teams and staff.
• Draft petitions, briefs, and amicus briefs for high-profile cases.
• Develop strategy with policy and education teams.
• Represent LDF in media and public venues.
• Travel as necessary.
