Job summary

BNY seeks an energetic Counsel for the Asset Servicing business to advise on complex transactions, regulatory matters, and strategic initiatives. The role will support the Fund Services group and interact with senior leadership across multiple locations.

Ideal candidates bring a J.D. and 12–15 years of experience in financial services, with strong negotiation and drafting skills, and the ability to manage a broad portfolio of legal issues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and bar admission in NY, FL or PA.
• 12-15+ years of relevant experience in financial services.
• Strong negotiation, drafting and advisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor on transactions, regulatory matters, and strategic initiatives for Asset Servicing.
• Coordinate with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal issues.
• Manage drafting and negotiation of client service agreements and related documents.
• Handle a broad portfolio of legal issues across fund services and digital assets.
• Collaborate with Risk, Audit, Compliance and other teams to align with global legal strategies.
• Develop deep understanding of Asset Servicing products and services.
