The successful candidate provides senior legal guidance across business units, drafts complex contracts, and advises on regulatory compliance, partnering with executives to balance risk and opportunity.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Illinois.
• Experience in law firm, corporate legal department, government agency, or regulated financial institution.
• Experience with agricultural finance or Farm Credit System preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the financial industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior legal counsel and strategic guidance to executives and leaders.
• Draft and negotiate complex contracts including loans, leases and related documents.
• Advise on compliance, regulatory matters and practical risk controls.
• Support agricultural lending teams and related services functions.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to the organization.
