Planned Parenthood Federation of America is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Advocacy and Political Law to guide compliance for exempt organizations and provide strategic legal counsel on tax, fundraising, lobbying, and governance matters.

The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and collaborates with senior leadership, external affairs, finance, and development teams to mitigate risk and ensure lawful advocacy across programs and initiatives.

Qualifications

JD from ABA-accredited U.S. law school required.
Bar admission to practice in New York or Washington, DC required.
Minimum seven years as practicing attorney in tax-exempt, advocacy and governance areas preferred.
Expertise in exempt-organization tax matters and campaign finance laws required.
In-house counsel or regulator experience preferred.

Responsabilités

Provide legal counsel on federal and state exempt-organization law, tax, campaign finance, lobbying, and governance for 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and 527 entities.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards across the National Office.
Educate and train staff and leadership on legal risks and obligations relating to tax-exempt entities and advocacy activities.
Advise on fundraising, registration, gift acceptance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Oversee outside counsel relationships to support organizational programs and operations.
