Job summary

First Roles is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to join our Colorado Springs team on DoD weapon system programs. The role focuses on developing life cycle cost estimates, conducting regression-based analysis, and translating data into cost impacts for government program managers.

You will collaborate with a team of cost analysts, leverage data science techniques, and contribute to risk assessments, schedules, and decision analyses in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Cost analysis experience or relevant experience in quantitative analysis positions (economic analysis, analytics, statistics, regression)
• Proficient in analyzing datasets and developing statistical models, able to tackle problems creatively
• Technical learner who can translate data into cost impacts for the government and communicate with cross-functional teams
• Experienced in leading financial-focused conversations in ambiguous environments with cross-functional teams
• Experience with data science, machine learning, visualization and BI tools is a plus
• Experience with Agile Software Development and SWP programs

• Build complex spreadsheet-based program cost models used as decision analysis tools
• Apply statistics concepts to quantify the probability of success for program budget and schedule plans
• Conduct business case analyses, trade studies and economic analyses
• Assist program managers in development and execution of contract strategies and program plans

Job Requirements

• Technical fast learner with the ability to communicate with multiple functional teams to gather (programmatic/technical) data and translate it into cost impacts for the government
• Experienced problem solver, comfortable working in ambiguous environments with the ability to lead financial focused conversations with cross functional teams
• Approachable team player with the skillset to successfully work a variety of projects and take direction from multiple sources at once
• Experience/coursework using data science, machine learning, visualization and business intelligence tools a plus
• Experience with Agile Software Development and/or Software Acquisition Pathway (SWP) programs

• BA/BS in relevant functional field MA/MS and 7 Years w 5 in DoD OR BA/BS and 9 Yrs exp w 5 in DoD 5 Years
