Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to support a major data center project in Houston, TX. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and procurement support, coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to maintain strong financial controls.

You will review change orders, cost proposals, and supplier analyses, while building cost tools and executive reports for stakeholders. This role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in cost management, cost controls, quantity surveying, estimating, or project controls.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with large-scale data center, mission-critical, or complex commercial/industrial projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections.
• Perform detailed cost reporting and analysis throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, identify variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Produce accurate cost forecasts and provide timely recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support project controls, including cost control, schedule integration, and progress reporting.
• Collaborate with estimating, procurement, finance, document control, and project management teams.
• Review and validate contractor applications for payment, change orders, and cost proposals.
• Assist with procurement activities, bid evaluations, supplier analysis, and commercial reviews.
• Maintain cost management tools, benchmarking information, and reporting processes.
• Support monthly client invoicing, PO management, and financial reporting requirements.
• Identify potential commercial risks and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and client procedures.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, or a related construction discipline
