Job summary

Innovar Group is partnering with a global data center developer to hire a Senior Global Cost Manager. This role will own the cost-management side of project controls for North American developments while supporting global standards, reporting, and best practices across a rapidly expanding portfolio.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in cost management, surveying, estimating, or commercial management.
• Experience managing estimating, budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and contingency across multiple projects.
• Strong CAPEX planning, cash flow, cost modeling, change management, and cost governance.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling; Procore cost modules experience; ERP exposure (Yardi Construction Manager).
• Experience with investment or underwriting teams and third-party cost consultants.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate cost data into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-level estimating, budgeting, forecasting, contingency tracking, cost reporting.
• Maintain cost targets and issue variance drivers by market and project type.
• Support business-case inputs, CAPEX updates, cost sensitivities, and budget governance from development to delivery.
• Create budget bridges, variance narratives, KPI reporting, and executive cost summaries.
• Track commitments, actuals, forecasts, cash flow, contingency drawdown, and change costs across scopes.
• Validate escalation, inflation, and regional market assumptions affecting CAPEX.
• Manage external cost consultants and ensure deliverables meet reporting standards.
• Partner with delivery, development, investment, and BI teams to improve cost data and templates.

Innovar Group is partnering with a global data center developer to hire a Senior Global Cost Manager. This role will own the cost-management side of project controls for North American developments while supporting global standards, reporting, and best practices across a rapidly expanding portfolio.

What You’ll Do

• Lead project-level estimating, budgeting, forecasting, contingency tracking, cost reporting, and cost-focused change control.
• Maintain cost targets and benchmarking assumptions by market and project type, and identify key variance drivers.
• Support business-case inputs, underwriting-model CAPEX updates, cost sensitivities, and budget governance from early development through delivery.
• Create budget bridges, variance narratives, KPI reporting, and executive-ready cost summaries that identify early warning signals and recommended actions.
• Track commitments, actuals, forecasts, cash flow, contingency drawdown, and change costs across design, general contractor, subcontractor, and long-lead equipment scopes.
• Validate escalation, inflation, and regional market assumptions affecting CAPEX.
• Manage and challenge external cost consultants, ensuring deliverables meet internal reporting and quality standards.
• Partner with delivery, development, investment, and BI teams to improve cost data, reporting consistency, templates, and global cost-management practices.

What You Bring

• 7–10+ years of progressive cost management, quantity surveying, estimating, or commercial-management experience; mission-critical or complex infrastructure experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing estimating, budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and contingency across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of CAPEX planning, cash flow, cost modeling, change management, and construction cost governance.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with Procore cost modules required/preferred, plus exposure to ERP platforms such as Yardi Construction Manager.
• Experience working with investment or underwriting teams and managing third-party cost consultants.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to turn detailed cost data into clear business recommendations.
