Job description
The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our team in the Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL.

This position leads the development of cost estimates for large-scale, complex construction works, often part of major multi-year programs. This position is responsible for coordinating with diverse technical design teams and independent cost estimating teams to assess and validate costs and risks. This position prepares and validates cost and change management reports and produces regular budget/cost reports.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive cost estimates based on total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, labor, risk, and general conditions for construction projects of large size and high complexity.
  • Oversee and prepare conceptual estimates, change order estimates, and other estimates for large, complex projects, ensuring alignment with project goals while assessing and validating costs and risks.
  • Develop and standardize cost report templates and issue budget/cost and change management reports, driving consistency and strategic insight across large programs.
  • Produce regular budget/cost reports, including status, forecast at completion, and variance versus baseline budget. Provide recommendations to senior leadership as needed.
  • Identify project constraints and/or needed upgrades and communicate them to the Project Manager. Collaborate with the team to identify potential solutions and impacts.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure that cost considerations are integrated into overall project goals.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and leadership to junior and support staff, assigning tasks for project duration and ensuring quality assurance throughout the estimation process.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Cost Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience in construction estimation or similar.
