Job summary

EDG is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to support project teams across a portfolio of large projects in downtown New Orleans. You will validate and report project costs, incorporate approved changes, and provide financial forecasts for assigned projects.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years in cost analysis, and proficiency with cost control software and Excel. Travel to client sites may be required and overtime could be necessary.

Qualifications

• Requires a High-School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Five (5) years with less than ten (10) years’ related experience as a project cost analyst or similar role required.
• Requires a working knowledge of cost control software and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software (Word, Powerpoint, etc.).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and travel to client sites occasionally.
• Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on project.

Responsibilities

• Work with project and discipline personnel to prepare cost expectations and tracking tools.
• Understand project documents for cost control plans and reports.
• Ensure accounting information integrity and provide analytical services for projects.
• Monitor and complete key reports, providing analytical functions for capital projects.
• Collect, evaluate, and report capital budget, project cost, work order closings, and variances.
• Initiate, monitor, maintain and close out capital work orders in all entities.
• Create and analyze capital budgets, forecasts, reporting, and variance explanations.
• Collaborate with accounting on reconciling invoices and accruals.
• Additional duties as assigned.
