Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a Cost Accountant for its Companion Data Services subsidiary in Columbia, SC. The role is full-time and on-site, requiring strong Excel skills and deep cost accounting knowledge.

You will perform reconciliations, maintain the general ledger, and support audits and management reporting. The position requires a Bachelor's in accounting with 5 years of accounting experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in accounting with 24 semester hours in accounting (or 21 if hired before Aug 1, 2008).
• 5 years of accounting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data retrieval applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily/monthly reconciliations of a complex nature.
• Maintain General Ledger and process journal entries.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Provide guidance and training to other accountants and interact with audit teams.
