Job summary

Primary Recruiting Services is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for Milwaukee or Cedar Rapids. You will manage inventory costing, support monthly closes, and analyze COGS to drive cost reductions across multiple facilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least two years in manufacturing cost accounting, with CPA or Master’s preferred. You will lead and mentor junior staff and play a key part in budgeting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
• At least 2 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
• CPA or Masters degree preferred.
• Must be a strong communicator and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory accounts and record adjustments.
• Assist monthly close procedures.
• Evaluate COGS and help reduce costs with cost reports for upper management.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
• Perform inventory accounting and reporting for key product lines.
• Manage costing for multiple facilities.
• Assist in annual and quarterly budgets preparation.
• Prepare reports for upper management and government entities.
• Assist with annual audit process.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues and deviations for better reporting.

What We're Looking For:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Managing all costing for multiple facilities
• Assist in the preparation of the annual and quarterly budgets
• Prepare necessary reports for upper management and government entities
• Assist with annual audit process.
• Detect, communicate, and recommend resolutions for accounting issues and problems
• Monitor deviations in the business and the accounting transactions for improved reporting and precision of financials.
