Job summary

Software Placement Group in Mars, PA is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to provide accurate product cost information that supports management decisions. This role combines cost accounting with daily AP/AR and GL duties, performed in line with GAAP.

You will maintain product cost data, set standard costs, analyze costs and variances, and assist in monthly closings and year-end audits. On-site in Mars, PA, with responsibilities across accounting functions in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost accounting for products and inventory valuation.
• Set standard costs for manufactured products.
• Analyze monthly manufacturing costs, variances, and absorption.
• Process accounts payable invoices with cost coding and filing.
• Process sales invoices daily.
• Process daily accounts receivable cash collections and applications.
• Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations for accruals, prepaids, and bank accounts.
• Assist with the monthly closing process and journal entries.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare data for year-end financial audit.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Overview

An established manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to provide accurate product cost information that supports management decision-making. This role combines specialized cost accounting work with routine Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger responsibilities, performed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

What you'll do

• Maintain accurate cost accounting for products, inventory valuation, and cost analyses
• Set standard costs for manufactured products
• Perform monthly analysis of manufacturing costs, variances, and absorption
• Process Accounts Payable invoices daily, including GL account coding, reviewing for cost savings, and electronic filing
• Process Sales invoices electronically on a daily basis
• Process daily Accounts Receivable cash collections and applications
• Complete monthly General Ledger account reconciliations for accruals, prepaids, bank accounts, and similar items
• Assist with the monthly closing process, including journal entry preparation
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Assist in preparing data for the year-end financial audit
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
