Job summary

Bayport Laboratories is seeking a Senior Formulation Chemist to lead development of color cosmetics, skincare, and hair care products. This role covers concept-to-launch formulation, optimization, testing, and mentorship under the R&D Lab Manager to ensure milestones and quality standards are met.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain rigorous documentation, and scale formulations to pilot or production batches while upholding cGMP and ISO 22716 standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience formulating color cosmetics from concept to launch.
• Experience developing new formulas from scratch with texture, color payoff, and performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing formulations for stability and cost.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, regulatory, QA/QC).

Responsibilities

• Formulate and reformulate cosmetic products from concept to production-ready formulas.
• Optimize formulations for stability, texture, and color payoff.
• Conduct stability and performance testing per protocols.
• Lead color matching, shade development, and innovative product concepts.
• Mentor laboratory technicians and ensure high-quality results.
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, and QA/QC for documentation and ingredient selection.
• Maintain accurate records of R&D projects and results.
• Scale laboratory formulations to pilot or production batches.
