Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Technician III (Corrosion) in Bath, ME to support on-site HM&E engineering and technical services for DDG 51 Class Flight III ships. The role focuses on corrosion control, inspections, and lifecycle support to ensure readiness of naval systems.

The ideal candidate has extensive corrosion experience with Navy hull coatings, conducts inspections, and may hold AMPP CIP certification.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent with credits in algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, and physics.
  • Three years of corrosion prevention and control experience on Navy ships.
  • Three years of experience with EPA/NESHAP/OSHA/ASTM 718F regulations and VOC compliance.
  • Three years of surveys of underwater hull, topside, interior and decks for corrosion control effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Research spare parts availability and provide actionable information to end users.
  • Deliver updates to technical documentation for ship systems installation, testing, operation and maintenance.
  • Support updates to EOSS, PMS, and technical manuals.
  • Assist in crew familiarization and integrated logistics support reviews.
  • Provide technical reviews of ILS elements as directed by NSWCPD.
  • Support full lifecycle activities for Flight III systems on DDG 51 class ships.
  • Experience with shipboard corrosion control and inspections is highly valued.
