Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS seeks a Correctional Services Manager in Tallahassee, overseeing the Violation of Probation Processing Unit. The role directs daily operations, develops policies, and ensures compliance with Department standards, reporting to leadership on workloads and outcomes.

The position requires coordination with legal staff, staff supervision, policy implementation, and data analysis to improve efficiency and accuracy in sentence calculations for statewide operations.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in a professional Classification, Correctional Officer Series, or Probation Officer position; years can be combined.
• Must meet at least one of: five (5) years analyzing/auditing sentence structure or five (5) years as a supervisor – SES in institution/region/central office.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Violation of Probation Processing Unit; set goals, develop policies, ensure work meets Department standards.
• Supervise staff; communicate expectations, provide training, evaluate performance, hiring/transfers/discipline decisions.
• Plan with Department leaders and legal staff on complex probation issues and court decisions.
• Develop and implement policies impacting statewide operations; monitor case accuracy and compliance; respond to inquiries from criminal justice agencies.
• Analyze workloads, improve efficiency, maintain statistics, provide regular status reports to leadership.
