Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Housing Unit Manager III (S) within the COO - OPS - Institutions Operations division. The position leads operations of an institutional housing unit, coordinating programs with custody staff and overseeing classification and disciplinary committees.

Reporting to the Correctional Assistant Superintendent, you will supervise staff, align program design to offender needs, and manage educational, mental health, and work assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School diploma or GED; five years of correctional experience, three at supervisory level.
• Must be eligible for NC Criminal Justice certification.
• Experience with report writing and case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and evaluate program design to meet offender needs; coordinate programs with custody staff.
• Manage programmatic/operational orientation of offenders (education, mental health, disciplinary segregation, assignments).
• May chair facility classification committee and be final approving authority on unit classification and disciplinary committees.
