Job summary

Francisco Partners seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel in Charlotte, NC to serve as a trusted legal partner across functions, handling vendor, procurement, and operational matters. The role reports to the General Counsel and supports Product, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Security, Production, and Content.

You will counsel on goods, services, technology, and relationships that enable business operations, while leveraging AI-powered tools and templates to drive scalable legal support.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of agreements.
• Sophisticated contract drafting and negotiation skills balancing business objectives, customer commitments, and risk.
• Experience counseling product/tech organizations on vendor, data, and IP matters.
• Familiarity with data privacy, IP, AI governance, and education technology is a plus.
• Independent work style with ability to manage competing priorities and escalate appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of vendor, procurement, and operational agreements, including SaaS, NDAs, and marketing arrangements.
• Issue-spot and triage incoming legal requests across business lines.
• Advise on data protection, COPPA, and privacy considerations in vendor arrangements.
• Support AI-related vendor and product counseling and risk assessment with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Security, and Content to align legal work with business risk.
