We are essential partners to our Supply Chain Organization which oversees the development of key technologies, the acquisition of advanced components, and the management of over 400 vendors, manufacturers, and services providers. Cisco’s supply chain network spans the globe and is responsible for approximately $7.5 billion in annual spend.

You will be the lead counsel supporting Cisco’s supply chain ecosystem for its growing ASIC, optical transceiver, silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, coherent, and client optics businesses. Responsibilities also include supporting our foundry, substrate, and packaging vendor relationships.

Your Impact:

As a legal leader and business partner, you will work closely with senior leadership across Cisco’s businesses and operations providing timely legal and business advice on critical projects and matters related to the production of Cisco’s products and the execution of Cisco services. You will also work closely with Cisco’s expansive legal team coordinating with them to address legal and regulatory matters and translating them into actionable plans and strategies. This environment involves cross-functional partnership, knowledge sharing, and support but is also a place with autonomy, individuality, and initiative.

You Will Have Experience With The Following:

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts for strategic in-bound relationships, including, but not limited to, advanced technology services (such as foundry and OSAT services), technology licenses, purchase and supply agreements, development agreements (including joint-development agreements), evaluation transactions, and OEM/ODM agreements
  • Advising business clients on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to commercial transactions, engineering, product development, and business operations
  • Driving constant improvement to existing legal documents, legal and business processes, and legal support models
  • Being adept at making sound legal decisions quickly in order to facilitate business execution while minimizing risk
  • Working on a broad range of subject areas including intellectual property, competition, privacy, marketing, licensing, and regulatory issues
  • Providing advise and mentorship to members of the team on sophisticated negotiations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • JD state bar admission in good standing with 10+ years of relevant experience structuring, drafting and negotiating sophisticated in-bound and out-bound commercial and technology agreements; ideally a combination of large law firm and in-house experience is preferred
  • Expertise negotiating contracts involving component acquisitions, development and joint-development projects, and other high-technology transactions involving hardware devices, systems, and related services
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and its ecosystem including development, manufacturing, and integration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting the business in the creation of new products and solutions
  • Strong leadership skills, including decisiveness on both legal and business issues
  • Eagerness to learn about the semiconductor and optical/optics industries, as well as Cisco’s networking and related businesses
