Job summary

Venbrook Group LLC is seeking a seasoned Corporate Attorney to support a diversified brokerage organization, handling retail and wholesale brokerage, underwriting, and claims services. The role reports to General Counsel and blends transactional work with litigation management across multiple states.

The ideal candidate will have JD, bar membership (California preferred), and in-house experience in insurance or financial services, with strong negotiation and risk advisory skills.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with in-house experience preferred.
• Active bar membership; California bar preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting multi-state regulatory compliance in insurance/brokerage.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support across retail and wholesale brokerage, underwriting, and claims operations.
• Manage and oversee litigation matters including insurance defense and claims disputes.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on strategy, costs, and alignment with business objectives.
• Review, draft, and negotiate insurance-related and general corporate agreements.
• Advise on legal risk, regulatory compliance, and operational matters for business units.
• Assist with dispute resolution including arbitration and settlements.
• Monitor developments in insurance law and advise leadership on impacts.
