We are seeking an experienced negotiator and pragmatic problem solver with a passion for, and experience in, privacy, security, and technology. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be adept at navigating complex data protection issues strategically. This is an in-person role based in Atlanta (GA), Dublin (CA), or Bellevue (WA).

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, negotiate, and close privacy and data protection agreements with enterprise customers, including those in highly regulated industries such as financial services and healthcare.
  • Collaborate with global sales and partner teams on revenue-driving transactions.
  • Support commercial attorneys on data protection issues during negotiations.
  • Partner with the security team on security-related negotiation issues.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Stay informed about evolving data protection regulations.
  • Develop and publish guidance on new data governance regulations and deliver related training.
  • Provide legal and business guidance to senior leaders.
  • Contribute to the improvement of templates, policies, and processes to streamline contracting.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of commercial legal experience, preferably in-house at a high-growth enterprise SaaS company, with 3+ years focused on privacy and/or security.
  • Strong negotiation skills with large enterprise customers.
  • Knowledge of global data protection laws, including GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Understanding of financial services regulations such as GLBA and 23 NYCRR 500.
  • Working knowledge of SaaS cybersecurity concepts and security certifications.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience scaling legal processes in a rapidly growing organization.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams at all organizational levels.
  • Service-oriented with high integrity.

Estimated compensation range:

  • Base salary: $162,000 - $225,800
  • Eligible for bonus and equity plans.

Starting salary will be based on skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, holidays, paid time off, parental leave, employee assistance, and more.
