Global Payments seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team and shape the future of global commerce. You will lead drafting and negotiation of customer-facing agreements and provide practical legal guidance across North America.

Ideal candidates have a J.D. and 3–6 years’ experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to drive business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 3–6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer-facing commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of customer-facing commercial agreements supporting Global Payments’ Genius Point of Sale business across North America.
• Provide practical legal guidance on customer contracts, regulatory matters, and pre-litigation disputes.
• Identify and evaluate legal and business risks while developing solutions that support business objectives and customer needs.
• Manage complex negotiations involving partner agreements, referral agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and related contracts.
• Support and lead legal department initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our ever-evolving Legal team and help shape the future of global commerce.

What you'll own

• Lead the drafting and negotiation of customer-facing commercial agreements supporting Global Payments’ Genius Point of Sale business across North America.
• Partner with business leaders, internal stakeholders, and legal colleagues to provide practical legal guidance on customer contracts, regulatory matters, and pre-litigation disputes.
• Identify and evaluate legal and business risks while developing solutions that support business objectives and customer needs.
• Manage complex negotiations involving partner agreements, referral agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and related commercial contracts.
• Support and lead legal department initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and service delivery across the business.

What you'll bring

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 3–6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house counsel experience.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer-facing commercial agreements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Strong business judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently and collaboratively.

It's a bonus if you have

• Experience negotiating agreements within the technology, financial services, fintech, or payments industries.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to commercial technology or payment processing businesses.
• A client-focused mindset with a proactive approach to delivering practical legal solutions and driving business outcomes.
