Job summary

Corteva Agriscience in Wilmington, DE, seeks a Senior Corporate Accountant – Financial Systems & Data Governance to design, build, and implement the Chart of Accounts in SAP Central Finance, and to administer the SAP BPC Consolidation system. This role partners with IT, Corporate Accounting, Tax, and FP&A to ensure accurate master data and robust controls.

• Willingness to support critical business cycles, including extended hours during month-end close.
• Advanced in Microsoft applications, BPC, SAP, Analysis for Office, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Strategically assist team members and business partners with researching postings between heritage systems and CFIN.
• Maintain and govern finance master data objects, including general ledger accounts, cost centers & elements, entities, profit centers, and organizational hierarchies.
• Maintain Financial Statement Versions.
• Review, research, and help process AIF errors that stem from CFIN postings from heritage SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Engage with business partners in projects, closings, analysis, and technical support.
• Ensure an effective and efficient monthly close process through governance and coordination.
• Act as a resource to business, function, and corporate initiatives as a general ledger account & AO Report expert.
• Understand CFIN logic to research GL postings and guide end users.
• Collaborate with IT Resources, BPC-IT, and Corporate Accounting on improvements and mapping.

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Accountant – Financial Systems & Data Governance within the Corporate Accounting Finance Master Data Governance Team located in Wilmington, DE. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Governance Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the design, build, and ongoing implementation of Chart of Accounts in SAP Central Finance "CFIN" system and administration of SAP BPC Consolidation system. This role will also support process improvement, collaborate with cross-functional project teams, support corporate month-end close processes, maintain finance master data, and assist with internal controls and audit activities. The position partners closely with IT, project teams, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Finance FP&A, and business leaders across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities – How Will You Help Us Grow

• Strategically assist team members and business partners with researching postings between heritage systems and CFIN.
• Maintain and govern finance master data objects, including but not limited to general ledger accounts, cost centers & elements, entities, profit centers, and organizational hierarchies.
• Maintain Financial Statement Versions.
• Review, research, and help process AIF errors that stem from issues of documents posting in CFIN from heritage SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Actively engage with business partners in projects, closings, analysis, and technical support.
• Ensure an effective and efficient monthly close process through strong governance and coordination.

Other Responsibilities

• Act as a resource to business, function, and corporate initiatives as a general ledger account & AO Report expert.
• Ability to understand CFIN logic to research how GL postings happened and provide guidance to end users.
• Collaborate with IT Resources, BPC-IT, and Corporate Accounting in providing guidance, assistance, and expertise on various matters such as streamlining account settings, the best way to implement changes to the chart of accounts, updates to mapping from heritage systems, discrepancies in reporting related to accounts, BPC functionality, and AO reports.
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Lead collaboration with peers on Master Data Governance related work.
• Work on special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Approximately 5+ years in accounting, finance and/or information technology.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, including close, master data, and transactional data flows.
• Experience working with SAP (e.g. S/4 HANA, ECC, Central Finance, or similar ERP environments).
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, evaluate solutions, and recommend practical approaches.
• Works well in teams with an ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a high degree of accountability.
• Willingness to support critical business cycles, including extended hours during month-end close and project-driven activities.
• Advanced in Microsoft applications, BPC, SAP, Analysis for Office, SharePoint
