Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant for a senior role in New York. The ideal candidate will hold an accounting degree and likely a CPA, with 8+ years of experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.

The position covers responsible preparation of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting public filings, plus ad hoc analyses. Strong communication and deadline-driven work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience.
• Accounting degree; CPA preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare position papers interpreting FASB standards and SEC guidance, and ensure the transaction is properly recorded in the general ledger.
• Review the day-to-day accounting for the Company’s Debt and Preferred Equity Investment portfolio to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of publicly filed documents (10-Ks/10-Qs) including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A sections.
• Assist in ad hoc analyses requested by management.
• Communicate status and deadlines to management; work with the team to meet expectations.
• Present information, ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely.
