Job summary

Summary

This position will be responsible for the continued development, maintenance, and continuous quality improvement of an innovative and informative Clinical Sciences Curriculum for the School of Medicine (SOM) Curriculum Office's Family & Community Medicine (FCM) Clerkship.

This position will be responsible for the continued development, maintenance, and continuous quality improvement of an innovative and informative Clinical Sciences Curriculum for the School of Medicine (SOM) Curriculum Office's Family & Community Medicine (FCM) Clerkship.

Job Duties
  • Ensures programs align with and meet compliance and accreditation guidelines; provides guidance and leadership in the accreditation process.
  • Plans, implements, and oversees education programs and activities.
  • Works with deans and educational leaders to implement procedures for CQI of processes used to administer curriculum.
  • Works closely with course faculty and staff to maintain adherence to procedures and deadlines.
  • Provides content development support for programs and activities.
  • Performs basic fiscal management activities, including financial reporting and/or purchasing.
  • Participates in comprehensive reviews of the curriculum, including information from each course and clerkship, for the assessment of the longitudinal curriculum.
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of the clinical sciences curriculum and select electives for the SOM educational program.
  • Provides administrative support for the Curriculum Office Leadership team or other faculty, including student calendaring for the SOM, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, and preparing correspondence.
  • Administratively supports core clerkship rotations by serving as a resource for the clerkship directors/program coordinators.
  • Manages the various system applications utilized in medical education departments (i.e., Blackboard, DaVinci Leo, SAP, Vida Nova, etc.).
  • Provides course/program materials and documentation on matters relating to education courses.
  • Interacts with course/program directors to facilitate course/program objectives.
  • Collaborates with the Evaluation, Assessment and Educational Research team for assessment and quality improvement in obtaining, distributing, and archiving student evaluations.
  • Proctors high stakes exams for medical education students .
  • Performs critical tasks related to the annual review processes in collaboration with course/program directors.
  • Ensures program, student, and department needs are met, resources are identified, and recommendations are implemented for improvements or enhancements.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains various system applications for all assigned courses/programs.
  • Serves as the back-up administrator for one or more medical school subcommittees.
  • Coordinates the administrative functions of the department’s medical education courses.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
