Job summary

Idaho Division of Veterans Services is hiring a Senior Cook for the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise. The role coordinates cooking services, prepares and serves meals, and ensures adherence to dietary requirements.

Qualifications

Experience in supervising a kitchen and training staff.

Responsibilities

Plans and prepares daily work for cooks and food-service workers or institutional clients.
Instructs in food preparation, serving, sanitation, and trains staff in job skills.
Ensures recipes are followed and portions meet dietary guidelines.
Inventory of supplies and ensures adequate availability for daily needs.
Prepares meals according to menu and dietary requirements.
Cleans and prepares fruits and vegetables, cooks meats, bakes, and desserts.
Maintains cleanliness of cooking and serving areas and equipment.
Oversees kitchen staff and responsibilities as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
