Job summary

Lockheed Martin seeks a Controls Research Science Associate Manager to lead a team researching and developing control systems algorithms and software for spacecraft, missiles, and directed energy missions.

You will mentor staff, drive innovative activities, and collaborate across disciplines, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink and LabVIEW/C/C++. A strong communicator with analytical skills is essential, with US citizenship and TS/SCI suitability.

Qualifications

Degree in physics or related engineering field.
Experience with control system design/analysis for spacecraft, missiles, or directed energy systems.
Experience with laboratory environment and test bed development.
Leadership experience in informal management or as a technical lead.
Fluency with MATLAB and/or Simulink.
Software and Lab programming (e.g. LabVIEW, C/C++).
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain TS security clearance.

Responsibilities

Manage generic scientific experiments, investigations and related research.
Define, lead and manage challenging activities related to control systems design and field testing.
Mentor team members in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Coordinate interdepartmental research efforts and IP considerations.
