Job summary

GE Vernova seeks an experienced Controls Platform System Integration Engineer to own quality, cost, and capability of wind turbine control platforms. You will drive multi-disciplinary programs, collaborate across global teams, and manage lifecycle cost tradeoffs to deliver required capability at a competitive cost.

Minimum reqs include a BS in Controls/EE/Computer Eng and 4+ years with embedded controls systems and RTOS. Relocation assistance provided and a discretionary annual bonus.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Controls/Computer/Electrical engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience with embedded controls systems and real-time operating systems.
• Experience defining control system software requirements and communicating them to engineers.
• Ability to lead projects in a global, matrix organization.
• Knowledge of PROFINET, MODBUS, OPC-UA and IEC-61850.
• Understanding of data acquisition, remote monitoring, and SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with safety and security industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess renewable energy industry automation needs and contribute to multi-generation technology plans.
• Collaborate with program management and product teams to develop high-level control system requirements.
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary development team to incorporate system requirements in controller design.
• Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans for successful product delivery.
• Oversee lifecycle cost tradeoffs to deliver capabilities at competitive cost.
• Provide timely communication on significant technical issues or developments.
• Present or review in technical and program reviews.
