Job summary

John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to serve as a technical leader in Vapor Technologies. You will provide deep expertise in combustion systems, industrial controls, automation, and field application engineering while developing the next generation of controls engineers.

As a technical resource, you will mentor engineers, drive engineering standards, and support critical projects across the organization, including collaboration with sales and service

Qualifications

• Experience designing, programming, testing, and commissioning industrial control systems for Vapor Combustion and Recovery projects.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, drives, process controls, and automation systems.
• Experience supporting industrial combustion, thermal process equipment, or related process technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems for Vapor Technologies products.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in combustion systems, combustion controls, and process automation.
• Develop control strategies, automation architectures, and application-specific control solutions for complex customer applications.
• Troubleshoot challenging system issues and provide technical leadership during startup and commissioning activities.
• Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and improve engineering standards, best practices, and design methodologies.
• Perform technical reviews and provide guidance to other engineers on complex projects.
• Develop and deliver technical training for controls and combustion-related topics.
• Mentor and coach engineers through project reviews, problem-solving, and lessons learned.
• Support sales, product, and service teams through technical consultation and customer engagement.
