Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced Information Systems professional to provide technical direction and guidance. The role focuses on compliance with IS standards, planning for systems development and operations, and overseeing hardware/software procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• 6+ years of information systems experience with proven programming.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA (Ignition and iFix), 4GL, scripting, server based, and SQL.
• PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting in industrial environments; familiarity with Schneider Electric/Modicon.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
• Advanced understanding of System Development Lifecycle Methodology; ability to develop specs, configurations, and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and recommendations to team members and IS management.
• Understand and ensure compliance to IS standards and methodology.
• Recommend and develop plans for systems development and operations.
• Hardware, software and equipment purchases.
• Negotiate with technical personnel and customers for services, products and direction.
• Review and advise groups in the selection, usage and maintenance of technology solutions.
• Provide direction to vendors and stay current on latest technologies for future IT initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
