Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to design, build, and optimize automated medical waste processing systems. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of PLC control, robotics, and machine vision in safety-critical, high-throughput environments, with travel across the USA, Canada, and beyond.

You will lead development of PLC/HMI software, deploy industrial robots, validate vision systems, and document compliant, scalable controls solutions with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with emphasis on automation.
• Experience in designing, programming, and debugging PLC/HMI systems is required.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robotics, vision systems, and integration with controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems for medical waste processing equipment.
• Integrate, program, and commission industrial robots for material handling and processing.
• Design, implement, and optimize machine vision systems for detection and process verification.
• Train and validate vision models ensuring accuracy, robustness, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, robotics, and software teams to deliver integrated automation solutions.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across controls, robotics, and vision systems.
• Prepare and review electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control drawings for new equipment and upgrades.
• Develop system documentation including specifications, control narratives, and validation protocols.
