Senior Controls Engineer (Process Controls & Manufacturing Team - NC)

Egan Company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Controls Engineer located in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this exciting role within our Process & Manufacturing Controls team, you will be designing, programming, and servicing automated control systems for a variety of industrial clients.

Note: For this position you would need to live close to Raleigh, NC since you will be working on-site.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and program a variety of industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
  2. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customers’ control systems as required.
  3. Programming of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Servos, and VFDs.
  4. Understand UL 508A control panel construction and design requirements.
  5. Support sales by providing estimates controls hardware costs and labor hours for potential projects.
Position Requirements:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent design and programming experience.
  2. A minimum of 8 years experience in related fields.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Familiarity with Google Suite - including Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
  5. NFPA 70E safety training.
Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 8 years experience in related fields and successful demonstration of key responsibilities as described.
  2. Expertise with Rockwell PLC and FactoryTalk HMI platforms is highly preferred.
  3. Familiarity with other platforms such as Siemens, Wonderware, and Ignition is beneficial.
  4. Ability to work within a dynamic team environment and with a variety of customers.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Familiarity with Power system design is beneficial.
  7. Familiarity with troubleshooting/design/configuration of machine-level Ethernet networks and managed switches.
  8. Understanding machine safety and safety circuit design categories are beneficial.
Working Conditions:
  1. Performance of duties will be hybrid or on job sites; deployment to North Carolina job sites may be up to 100% of the time.
  2. Travel may be required up to 20%.
  3. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
