Job summary

Connect Force Recruiting, partnering with a precision machinery manufacturer in Farmington Hills, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, program, diagnose, startup and optimize advanced industrial machinery.

The right candidate will have strong PLC/HMI skills, experience with Siemens platforms, and proven ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and service teams on custom equipment builds.

Qualifications

6+ years of controls engineering or automation experience.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with HMI development and electrical controls.
Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, service and production.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and support PLC and HMI programs.
Support controls for custom machine builds, retrofits and upgrades.
Troubleshoot electrical, software, and machine-control issues during build and startup.
Work with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, motion systems, safety circuits.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical docs.
Assist with startup, validation, and customer acceptance testing.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical design, service and production teams.
Provide technical support for customers and internal teams.
Contribute to controls standards and documentation.
Maintain focus on safety, quality, reliability, and long-term performance.
