Job summary

Actalent in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Senior Controls Engineer to design, install, and maintain equipment for monitoring and controlling critical systems across multiple applications. You will work across industrial controls, building automation, power protection, and energy management with PLCs, SCADA, and related tech.

The role requires strong engineering credentials (7+ years in electrical/automation; 5+ years in utilities) and experience with leading SCADA projects and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in electrical/automation; 7+ years experience.
• 5+ years in the electric utilities sector.
• 5+ years in solution architecture and real-time grid management.

Responsibilities

• Originate design documents for small projects and support large programs.
• Lead programming and configuration for complex automation and SCADA apps.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs/RTUs/HMI with common protocols.
• Read electrical/control schematics and prepare QA/QC reviews.
• Train and coordinate with engineers and staff on technical tasks.
• Commission systems and develop test fixtures and procedures.
