Job summary

E Tech Group in Sonoma, CA is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead hardware and software design of process automation control systems. You will program PLC/SCADA, configure historian databases, tune control loops, and support startup and commissioning.

Minimum 4+ years in engineering with experience in control systems, instrumentation, and various PLC/SCADA platforms (ControlLogix, Studio 5000, PlantPAx, RSView). Strong communication and consulting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience or equivalent mix of education.
• Consulting experience.
• Proficiency troubleshooting control systems and understanding process controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ignition and PLC experience with multiple PLC platforms.
• Experience in food/beverage and winery controls engineering.
• Knowledge of batch standards (S88) and batch systems.
• Control system validation experience a plus.
• Other PLC platforms (GE/Siemens/Modicon) and SCADA/HMI tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity.
• Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet requirements.
• Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
• Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks.
• Interact with customers to define scope, plans and deliverables.
• Work in a team with strong customer service and continuous improvement.
• Serve as an ambassador upholding Core Values and client success.
