Job summary

Savoye North America is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to lead a multi-disciplined team on material handling projects. You will develop PLC and HMI software, create electrical schematics, and collaborate with customers from design through system acceptance.

Travel up to 25% is required to support sales, installations, and commissioning. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in the material handling industry, strong AutoCAD Electrical skills, and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Seven or more years of experience, preferably in the Material Handling Industry.
AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical to develop electrical schematics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
Knowledgeable of Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC and HMI software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
Experience developing and debugging PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, and function block.
Familiarity with Beckhoff, Siemens, Schneider/ Modicon, Lenze, and CodeSys.
Experience in conveyor system controls for carton and unit load handling, ASRS.
Travel up to 25% to support sales, project design, installations, commissioning, and service.

Responsibilities

Lead a flexible multi-discipline team to produce material handling solutions.
Attend and lead technical discussions with customers.
Mentor other engineers in job requirements.
Travel to customer sites for sales support, site evaluation, and design reviews.
Provide regular updates to Project Management on deliverables and risks.
Produce documentation for the project including schematics and drawings.
Develop, design and modify PLC and HMI programming for equipment.
Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D to ensure product quality.
Perform pre-commissioning activities and commissioning tests.
Support installation through system acceptance at customer sites.
