Job summary

Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Controls to lead automation projects and support advanced manufacturing equipment. You will optimize PLC/HMI based control schemes, mentor teams, and ensure processes meet regulatory validation requirements for high-volume production.

The role emphasizes data-driven continuous improvement, equipment qualification, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and uptime at the Indianapolis site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 2+ years.
• Hands-on experience with industrial equipment controls systems (PLC/HMI/Motion).
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, RSLogix/Studio 5000 and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods and processes.
• Advance automation and electromechanical processes; coordinate release of new products.
• Estimate manufacturing cost and advise on tooling, controls hardware/software needs.
• Manage multiple projects, ensure validation and provide training to staff.
• Support on-call rotation for production and weekend coverage.
