Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead automation projects from concept through commissioning.

You will design control systems using PLC, HMI, SCADA and DCS platforms, develop architectures, and program controllers while collaborating with clients and internal teams. The role requires 7+ years in controls engineering, experience with Rockwell/Siemens platforms, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in controls engineering with PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS exposure.
• Experience with Rockwell and Siemens automation platforms; Ignition familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to commissioning, interfacing with clients and internal teams.
• Design and implement control systems using PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
• Develop control system architectures, select components, and draft schematics.
• Program controllers and visualization systems; build historical data databases.
