Job summary

Sterling Industrial LLC is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to lead instrumentation and controls for a large hydropower facility. You will oversee design development, interface management, constructability, and commissioning support for BOP and powerhouse systems.

The role requires an electrical/control systems degree with extensive project experience, ability to coordinate with multiple design consultants, and a focus on safety, reliability, and compliant engineering practices on underground

Qualifications

University/College graduate with BS (or MS) in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.
15 years of overall experience in engineering, of which at least 5 in control systems for hydropower or large infrastructure projects.
Experience supporting powerhouse/BOP systems on medium to large hydropower/pumped storage projects.

Responsibilities

Review conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for BOP/controls systems.
Coordinate control system designs with Civil/Geotechnical, Mechanical, Electrical teams.
Develop control system design criteria, instrument lists, DCS design, and data sheets.
Interface with OEMs for control system integration into powerhouse systems.
Provide Construction & commissioning support including RFIs and field evaluations.
Support construction sequencing, installation constraints, and temporary power planning.
Participate in testing, energization, and commissioning activities and handover to operations.
Ensure compliance with ISA, IEEE, and ASME standards in deliverables.
