Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to lead end-to-end real-time controls development for energy storage systems.

You will design controller architectures, simulate dynamic systems, and implement field-tested control strategies across grid-connected and off-grid applications. The role emphasizes three-phase power systems, inverter modeling, and powerful tools like MATLAB/PSCAD/PSS/E, with collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on control theory, power systems, or power electronics.
• Minimum 3 years of dynamic system modeling experience.
• Knowledge of inverter operation and control.
• Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and interface with customers.
• Experience delivering quality products through the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain models of energy storage systems, inverters, generators, and renewables for grid studies.
• Develop control algorithms for optimal control of battery, PV, and gensets.
• Perform simulation studies on interactions between generation resources for stability and performance.
• Maintain documentation of simulation reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Interface with sales engineering and project teams to collect modeling requirements.
