Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on control theory, power systems, or power electronics.
• Minimum 3 years of dynamic system modeling experience using MATLAB, PSCAD, PSS/E, or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of inverter operation and control.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and to interface with customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain models of energy storage systems, inverters, generators, and renewables for dynamic and steady-state grid interconnection studies.
• Develop control algorithms for optimal control of various generation resources including battery, PV, and gas-powered gensets.
• Perform simulation studies to investigate interactions between different generation resources in terms of stability and performance in off-grid and grid-connected operations.
• Maintain excellent documentation of simulation reports and system studies, and give presentations to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Interface with sales engineering, program management, project management, and project engineers to collect project modeling requirements.
