Dominion’s Advanced Controls Engineering team is dedicated to quality, on-time engineering. As a member of the Controls Design team, you’ll work alongside Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Documentation teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for various product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design controls software including PLC programs, HMI applications, drive applications, and device communication networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P).
  • Apply automation knowledge and industry standards to develop machine controls and produce customer deliverables.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, report status, and complete project action plans.
  • Adhere to the Quality System and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Update personal and team knowledge through educational opportunities and assisting team members.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in developing PLC programs and HMI applications meeting project and customer requirements.
  • Experience with customer and industry specifications, with relevant recent work history.
  • Ability to work directly with customers, independently or as part of a team, supporting other departments through meetings, issue resolution, and status reports.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of industry standards, practices, and customer requirements, including GM, FCA, or Ford projects.
  • GM certifications and safety training; certifications like GCCH, GCCS, Eplan, MPS, ESWP.
  • Experience with GM and FCA plant systems such as SEP, GEP, MERS, RPM, FIS, PFCS.
  • Proficiency with RSLogix, PLC5, Factory Talk View, Siemens TIA Portal, Servos, VFDs.
  • Experience with automation in General Assembly, Tire and Wheel, Fluid Fill, and Alignment processes.
