Job summary

Ocado Group in the US (Colorado) seeks a Controls Engineer to combine PLC expertise with data-driven performance engineering. You’ll troubleshoot live systems, lead incident response, and mentor junior engineers while improving site reliability using Grafana, Looker, and PLC tooling.

You will own safety compliance, change control, and documentation, collaborating with Operations, SME, and CoE teams to deliver measurable uptime gains and robust, scalable control solutions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in automation/controls roles, with 3+ years in warehouse/industrial environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with PLC systems, SCADA/HMI platforms, and industrial automation hardware.
• Proficient with control system communication protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line and escalation support for live production control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI, Safety PLCs).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults; modify PLC code as needed.
• Ensure changes follow change control, backup, and documentation standards.
